About Light Now

Many people learn how to survive difficult seasons of life, but never really learn how to support themselves ongoing. When life suddenly changes through loss, illness, overwhelm and other life challenges, it is natural to feel floored, lost or unsure what to do next.

Judy understands that feeling. She helps people move through life's difficult seasons with caring support, practical tools and steady guidance, so they can feel calmer, clearer, stronger and more capable of moving forward.

Meet Judy

People often tell me I am a wise guide. If so, I think that wisdom comes less from qualifications and more from living fully, paying attention, and being willing to learn from life's challenges. My life has included great joy, wonderful adventures, raising a family, serious illness, professional success, deep love and profound loss.

In 1983, at the age of 37, I faced a life-threatening illness. For a time, I was heartbroken at the thought of leaving my husband John and everything we were building together. That experience taught me something important: human beings are often far stronger than they realise.

Many years later, life presented another huge challenge when I lost John unexpectedly after 54 years of a great, dynamic marriage. Grief became one of my greatest teachers. Through both despair and healing, I focused on collecting practical tools, strategies and insights that could help myself, and others, to navigate these difficult seasons of life.

Today, Light Now allows me to share what I have learned with people who are ready to move forward into greater peace and possibilities.

With love and respect, Judy Hinwood.

Core principles

  • The individual personality is sacred, to be respected, understood and loved.
  • Emotional wellbeing starts with feeling safe enough to slow down and take a breath. That is the first goal.
  • I may meet people when they are vulnerable, emotional and weakened, and they have every right to be that way.
  • Simple, easily understood tools are more powerful. Tools must work in real life, not just in sessions.
  • Feeling calmer and lighter is not selfish. It helps people continue living and functioning.
